Roy Lichtenstein was a pop artist (alongside Andy Warhol, Jasper Johns, Keith Haring, etc.). Pop art is recognizable for its references to pop culture and colorful, often mass-produced works.
Lichtenstein’s cartoonish style is extremely recognizable/identifiable.
He once said that “pop art looks out into the world. It doesn’t look like a painting of something. It looks like the thing itself.”

Thanks for this one! I love Lichtenstein's work and hadn't looked at any of his work in a long time. Each one is like an entire novel in just one image!!
